Blogging Assignment 6

It means to me as the principle that there are any unexpected outcomes to be happened. This could be supported by the quote the author has in his book, "We shape our buildings, and afterwards our buildings shape us." I think he is saying here that the technology we human have developed could well change -negatively, possibly- more other things of what we even haven't expected. As my own example, it was a "Unintended Consequence" that I couldn't fell in a sleep after drinking a cup of coffee to keep myself awake, just for a while I was doing my home work: but the coffee worked very well that I did not get sleepy after finishing it as well.

  1. This sounds like an intended consequence to me. Don't you think so? I mean, you did drink the coffee knowing that the caffeine would act to keep you alert and awake, didn't you? That it worked better than you imagined is a bit of a surprise, but not unintended, wouldn't you say?

  2. Hummm. I thought it was unintended consequences, because the caffeine worked more than I thought and usually I can sleep even after drinking a cup of coffee.(Maybe that had to mentioned too?) Or still is that treated as just being "surprising"?

  3. mmm i agree with chris lol because you drank coffee with the intention to wake up. but it could be said that your intention was to drink HEAPS of coffee but the fact that one cup did the trick was unintentional. ;)

  4. I think this is not an unintended consequence...
I understand what you're saying, since I don't get awake after coffee too, but maybe the example is a bit confusing.
